Falls of wool, end of wool coils

In collaboration with Josette Rengade,
my grandmother's living room, Toulouse - FR

Josette taught me to knit. she is my grandma. She knits better than anyone and quicker than her own shadow. She is very concentrated whereas I knit to better talk to her. Together we elaborated a “woven knit” through a variation of the honeycomb point.

I braided yards of knit-thread that I inserted in the knitted mesh she had made. Little by little, a three-dimensional fabric comes to life, generating a complex double-side weaving but also endless and wonderful chats with my sweet grandmother.
